Eastern Oklahoma State College/ Hull Show Cattle hosting Free Show Cattle Clinic and Cattle Judging Contest.
Saturday, November 6, 2010 Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Livestock Judging Team will be at Hull Show Cattle ranch in Poteau, Oklahoma. They will be conducting a free show cattle clinic and cattle judging contest for area young people from 6 years old to graduating seniors sponsored by Hull Show Cattle of Poteau and EOSC’s Livestock Judging Team . Your 4H and FFA Chapter is invited, bring all your kids that want to judge and are interested in show cattle. This will be a unique and educational event . The EOSC freshman and sophomore judging teams, along with nationally recognized show cattle industry speakers Jirl Buck, Todd Blocker, and Cody Lott (fitter) will conduct demonstrations on good cattle judging practices and show cattle procedures. Martindale and Showmaster feeds will be on hand, Show Master’s Dr. Bryan McMurray will give presentation and have film crew on-site. We will divide our judging contest into junior, intermediate, and senior divisions.
They will feed the group a great BBQ lunch, give away door prizes throughout the day, and will provide each participant a t-shirt designed by Eskimo Joe’s. We will also have games and contest to keep everybody busy. The highlight of the day will be during the awards assembly when we give to one randomly drawn, lucky, youngster a champion show heifer from our ranch. The only thing they ask is if you win the heifer you will show her. The day is free thanks to sponsors Farm Credit of East Central of Oklahoma, VitaFerm, Diamond V, Martindale Feeds, Show Master Feeds, Wells Completion, Coaches Lumber, Belle Point Ranch, Nelson Land and Cattle Company, OG and E, Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association, Kerr Center( Poteau), Mark Allen, Rodney Evans, Spiro Graphic, Eagle Valley Bedding.
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the event will start at 10:30 a.m. Please RSVP by October 20.( need t-shirt sizes) Your are welcome to bring your spouse and kid’s. This event is all free and we hope to be a great experience for you and your kid’s.
