First we drove by the house where I used to live 26 years ago. I really didn't think it would still be there.....but it was. It looked about the same, maybe a little better. I'm bettin' if I went inside, it probably still had the SAME carpet! (in typical college town rental house fashion)
We found a parking space by Lake Lavern and took off on a walk about through the campus. All the sudden, it seemed like I was in a time warp. Drake was amazed by the many different buildings that classes are held in. I could vaguely remember being in some of them.....probably because I wasn't very MUCH! (not so lol)
There's some tree on campus that gives off a distinct smell. I stopped Drake to see if he could smell it. To this day, anywhere I smell that smell, it takes me back to the Iowa State campus. I wish I knew what tree it was.
