Georgia wants to ban growing your own food

(USER SUBMITTED) – Senator Johnny Isakon and Senator Saxby Chambliss are co-sponsoring a bill known as The Food Safety Modernization Act to make growing food in your own backyard illegal. Bill S510 is under revision in the senate. The main point of the bill is to prevent food borne illnesses, however the legal fine print in the current version that is to be voted upon this week makes it enforceable to persecute you for growing your own food in your own private property. This would of course make you depend on your local supermarket for all your greens, and could make the farmer's market impossible.
