Yes, my wife committed the unimaginable and put the Christmas tree up yesterday. We always used to get a REAL tree, usually from a grader ditch or Hy-Vee(local food chain), but a couple years ago she bought this tree, and it's not bad for a fakey. It sure is nice not to have to pick pine needles out of your feet for the next year!
The only "problem" with a fake tree is the annual assembly of it.....or as we call it "BATTLE ROYALE!" We store it in our basement and have to go up a flight of stairs and around a couple corners in order to reach its destination. Some years I've barely lived through the experience!
However, this year was different. Shawn and I worked like little mute army ants, and before I new it, it was up and I was back to work. A completely painless, almost "out of body" experience....kinda like the first time I had laughing gas at the dentists office! When the kids got home from school, they put the finishing touches on it and I must say it looks pretty good.
I'm assuming next year we'll probably be decorating it around the 4th of July as early as Shawn keeps moving it up every year! lol
